Change Driving charges payment window from 24 hours to 7 days
Change law to provide protection to consumers against arbitrary fines. Change to law to require 7 days for payment until fine is issued for airport drop off charges, ulez, congestion charge, dartford crossing and other driving charges.
I have had many fines for simply forgetting to pay within 24 hours or the next working day. But I always remember a couple of days later. The payment periods at present are arbitrarily and punitively short.
Issuing a fine of up to £100 for forgetting to pay £5, or £2.50 within 24 or 48 hours should be illegal and there should be consumer protections in place to prevent such practice.
