Increase universal credit pay according to inflation
Review and increase Universal Credit payments according to raisen prices of food and other essentials by more than 50% since the last year.
Poor families with children and families with disabilities can't afford to live, we can't even afford essentials, we have to live in cold houses and starved just to give decent meals to children.
Surely annual salary increase hasn't been missed for house of parliament members, but we've been on same pay since few years back.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Universal Credit, and other benefits that are linked to inflation, rose by 10.1% in April 2023. You can find out more about benefits uprating here: commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-9680/
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to increase Universal Credit by an additional amount, but it would need to be clear how much you wanted Universal Credit payments to be increased by.
