Petition Action

Change the law so that any profit from a house sale on which an MP has claimed mortgage expenses MUST be paid into the public purse.

Additional Information

Expense schemes are intended to cover costs incurred when 'doing the job'. MPs are using housing expenses to defray the costs of buying properties and then making huge profits by selling off the houses without being liable for passing those profits back to the taxpayer. Any MP who sells a taxpayer funded house for even one single penny over the original purchase price MUST be required to pay that penny to the taxpayer.
