Legislate to preserve cash and prevent it being replaced by a digital currency.
The government should bring about legislation to preserve the sanctity of cash and ensure that it is not replaced by a digital currency.
Notwithstanding the fact that cash remains a preferred payment option for lots of people, cash comes with inherent protections that help to limit abuse that might be caused by rogue governments, financial institutions or criminals.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government has been clear that any digital currency would sit alongside, not replace, cash, and there are no plans for cash to be replaced. It is therefore not clear what action you want the Government to take.
