To debate whether the Monarchy should be abolished in the United Kingdom
Parliament should hold a debate on whether in the 21st century the United Kingdom should retain its' Monarchy. A free vote should then be offered to MP's on maintaining the status quo or becoming a republic.
As more & more countries decide that they no longer wish to retain our Monarchy as their head of government, the British people should also be given the opportunity to decide whether in the 21st Century it is appropriate for us to have a hereditary head of state who is unaccountable to no one and has enormous influence over the political system of this country albeit a very secretive one.

If the public voted to abolish the monarchy, this decision would still need to be implemented by Parliament, so MPs would have to approve this in order for it to happen.
