Create a Tenant Register to Protect Property Landlords
Create a tenant register for property landlords to determine why tenants were evicted from a rental property. This would allow landlords to do background checks on potential tenants to see if they have a history of damaging property or refusing to pay rent – creating a more transparent approach.
One of the key issues for landlords when renting property is the risk involved in not knowing the history of who they are renting to. This exposes landlords to significant financial risk because of the time and associated costs of evicting tenants. The register will provide protection for landlords and allow them to make informed decisions when renting their properties.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. It's not clear if you want the Government to create a new register that all tenants are required to be on, or one that would just record cases where a tenant has been evicted, and the reasons for this.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
