Allow individuals to present public petitions without the support of an MP
We want the Government to enable individuals to submit a petition to the House of Commons without this needing to be presented by an MP. Some MPs refuse to present petitions on behalf of their constituents, so individuals should be able to do this without the support of an MP.
The Government has a duty to ensure that individuals can petition Parliament. Yet there are some MPs we believe do not take their duties seriously enough, including where they are in a safe seat.
When individuals ask for assistance, some MPs don’t respond, or refuse to help. Where an MP is not willing to submit a public petition on an individual's behalf, they should be able to submit this directly.
You can't sign this petition because it is now closed. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
