Make Mental Health training mandatory for teachers
In 2020 it became mandatory for schools to teach about mental health, yet training is not mandatory for teachers. We need to support our students.
Among 17 to 19 year olds, the proportion with a probable mental disorder increased from 17.4% in 2021 to 25.7% in 2022. This is scary. Our students must be supported as this is becoming an increasing issue. Teachers want to be able to act and understand how best to support their students. With sufficient training, this can be achieved.
