Make the BBC allow access to iPlayer for UK licence fee payers when abroad.
When abroad on holiday, UK licence fee payers are blocked from accessing BBC iPlayer to watch BBC TV programmes with the message "You can only access iPlayer when you are in the UK". Please FORCE the BBC to allow licence fee payers the ability to access BBC services when abroad on holiday.
When I pay for a TV licence, I am funding the BBC, I should be allowed to watch BBC programmes when I am abroad on holiday!
It is easy to put in place a system, whereby a licence payer can enter their licence number, name and address to allow them to watch BBC programmes, when they are on holiday in Greece, France, Thailand, Australia, USA, etc. The Government needs to make it a condition of the BBC licence that those who pay a licence fee MUST be able to watch BBC content when we are abroad.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about the availability of BBC iPlayer in other countries are a matter for the BBC, not the UK Government or Parliament.
