Urge UK Parliament to address Pakistan's crisis, protect rights & democracy.
Request UK Parliament to review the petition on Pakistan's political crisis, condemn victimisation, and engage diplomatically. Advocate for media freedom, human rights, and collaborate with partners to restore rule of law and democracy. Hold Pakistan accountable for violations and accountability.
We believe the British Parliament has a unique responsibility to address the political crisis in Pakistan due to the UK's historical ties with the country, the 1.4 million strong Pakistani-British community, and the UK's global role in promoting democracy and human rights. By taking action, the UK government and parliament can help safeguard the rule of law, protect fundamental rights, and contribute to the stability of a key partner.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you are concerned about the current situation in Pakistan, but the Government is already engaging with the Government of Pakistan on the issues you have highlighted.
The UK Government has said that the UK regularly engages the Government of Pakistan at a senior level on the need to uphold the rule of law and respect human rights, protecting media freedom and freedom of expression, and upholding democratic norms.
If there is a specific action you would like the Government to take you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
