Clients who are under the Community Mental Health team to have a reduction in their Universal Credit payments to contribute to their care and treatment and supporting them safely in the community in various settings, even if discharged on section 117 aftercare.

Additional Information

Individuals who are in receipt of Universal Credit, which can be a considerable amount, can be vulnerable to exploitation, especially in cases where they struggle with addiction, where funds may be used on substances and alcohol, not in supporting their recovery in the community.

Often, these individuals can be targeted for financial exploitation due to their vulnerabilities.
