Petition Action

Require GPs to accept ADHD shared care agreements.

Petition Details

Require NHS GPs to accept private ADHD diagnoses and shared care agreements, and prescribe medication.

Additional Information

In the UK, GPs don’t have to accept shared care agreements. This means someone with a private ADHD diagnosis may be receiving prescriptions from their GP, but if they relocate to a different city and move GP, then their new one might not accept the agreement and the patient will lose access to life changing medication.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about patient care are a matter for individual clinicians, not the UK Government or Parliament.
