Return of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Ceremonial Sword, 'Jagdamba', to India
We respectfully urge the UK Government to assist in returning Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's ceremonial sword, 'Jagdamba', and other Indian artifacts. These items are of immense cultural significance, particularly as we commemorate the 350th anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj's coronation.
Return of the Artifact would be of significant cultural, historical & emotional value, the transfer of such items to their place of origin would not only be an act of goodwill, but it would also demonstrate the UK Gov's understanding and respect for India's rich cultural heritage.
We request to take our plea into consideration and facilitate the temporary or permanent return of these treasured artifacts. Such an act would serve as a powerful gesture of respect and goodwill between our nations.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about items in the Royal Collection are a matter for the Royal Family, not the UK Government or Parliament.
