Petition Action

Serious Case Review into Social Workers & Safeguarding Professionals.

Petition Details

Too many babies, toddlers and children are dying from abuse and neglect. Enough is enough! Social workers at the moment cannot determine what is or isn’t safe.

Additional Information

My heart breaks every time I hear a baby, toddler or young child has died at the hands of their “carer”. No accountability for the “professionals” who gave those children a death sentence because of their ignorance.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about child safety, but case reviews are already conducted when a child dies, or is seriously harmed, as a result of abuse or neglect.

In 2021 the Government commissioned an independent review of children’s social care, to make sure children and young people get the support they need. The review published its report in 2022, and the Government responded in 2023. You can find out more about this review, and reads its report and the Government's, here: www.gov.uk/government/groups/independent-review-of-childrens-social-care

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
