Add BSL (British Sign Language) to the National Curriculum up to the age of 11
As part of my fundraiser, I challenge the government to place BSL in the PSHE British National Curriculum. By doing so, there'll be an increase of BSL popularity and recognition as time goes on, enabling the deaf community to communicate with the rest of the UK effectively, fixing multiple issues ->
Almost 1 in every 5 people in the UK have hearing difficulties. Half of them have poor mental health because of a lack of social interaction and lack of attention. Communicating with others is vital in order to build a socially healthy life, but for people with hearing difficulties, that's difficult to achieve. By inserting BSL in the national curriculum up to the age of 11, we will empower our younger generation to be able to communicate with the deaf community, and their peers, in the future.
