Prevent religious organisations discriminating on basis of sexual orientation
The Government should remove the exceptions in the Equality Act 2010 to make discrimination by religious organisations on the basis of sexual orientation illegal.
Currently, religious organisations are allowed to discriminate against people for their sexuality in certain cases. For an example: people can be excluded from activities and excluded from the place of worship. I think this is wrong, and could traumatise and ruin people’s lives. There is no way for people who have been discriminated against in this way to get redress under UK law.
