IMPROVE ROAD SAFETY BY PRIORITISING THE REPAIR OF POTHOLES
We ask that the Government puts in place the necessary legislation thereby forcing Councils to repair potholes within seven days of them being reported, and that such a repair should, as a minimum standard, entail cutting the pothole into a box shape and then compressing with hot tarmac.
In recent years rarities such as potholes in roads have become commonplace thereby causing accidents, fatalities and expensive damage to vehicles.
For this purpose the term pothole should apply to holes in the highway which are 30mm or more in depth.
