Petition Action

Stop dog attacks

Petition Details

There seems to be a rise in the number of dog attacks around the country lately. Is this an accurate observation or are they in the media more? Either way, I know I don't want my own children, or anyone I know to be on the other end of one if these attacks again.

Additional Information

The government need to regulate dogs and their owners so that dogs are always under control when in a public space. Any new policy must have sufficient consequences for non-compliance along with adequate monitoring facilities.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about attacks by dogs, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Require dogs in public places to be on a lead at all times: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/634272

Make all dogs no matter what breed muzzled in public: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/633198

Require leads, muzzles and licences for all dogs: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/638225

Lifetime ban on dog ownership for anyone whose dog attacks a person: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/639062
