Give 16 year olds in the UK the right to vote in General Elections
The Government needs to lower the voting age from 18 to 16 in General Elections because they are denying 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote and to democracy.
At the age of 16, you are able to;
Give full consent to medical treatment,
Leave school and enter work or training,
Pay income tax and National Insurance,
Consent to sexual relationships,
Change their name by deed poll,
Become a director of a company,
Join the armed forces,
Become a member of a trade union or a cooperative society,
and yet, they are viciously refused the right to vote in General Elections, by the Government and this needs to change.
