Stop the felling of 100's of 100ft Poplar trees
I urge the UK government to take immediate action to prevent the unnecessary loss of these valuable natural resources. Do an independent assessment of the environm impact of felling these trees, taking into account their ecological significance, contribution to local ecosystems & wildlife habitats.
Trees play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy and sustainable environment. They provide numerous benefits, such as improving air quality, mitigating climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide, reducing noise pollution, enhancing biodiversity, and providing habitats for countless species. Trees also contribute to the aesthetic beauty of our surroundings and offer a sense of tranquility and well-being to communities.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure if you're concerned about plans to remove specific trees, which would be the responsibility of the relevant local authority, or the legislative framework protecting trees from felling, which is the responsibility of the UK Government and Parliament.
If you're concerned about plans to remove specific trees, you could raise this with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
If you want to see changes to legislating protecting trees from felling you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
