To allow schools to hide a students LGBTQ involvement from parents.
Most schools feel like they need to make the students parents aware if a student tells them about an involvement to the LGBTQ community. Students want to have control over how and when there parents know, this is because some parents are homophobic and anti-LGBTQ.
