Petition Action

Change the High Income Child Benefit Charge

Petition Details

Everyone should be entitled to child benefit if they are paying into the system. I would like the government to change the cap from a single persons salary to a combine household income before cutting off the benefit. If you pay into the system you should be entitled to get back out of the system!

Additional Information

With the cost of living ever increasing a salary of 50k isn’t that much in todays day and age when a monthly mortgage is over £1000, energy bills are over £3000 - things are getting tighter for everyone.

If you are paying higher tax, you should at least benefit from paying more in rather than not receiving anything at all.

The cut off for the benefit should be based on the combine house income and not a single persons salary and this needs to be raised to over £150,000.
