Label all food that is air freighted into the UK to reduce carbon emissions.
To help reduce aviation emissions, we need to reduce the air freighting of produce, whether out of season, or not grown here. Help shoppers to make wise decisions when buying food, flowers with a label indicating that an item has been airfreighted - a simple white airplane in a red circle would do.
Food miles
Air-freighted goods are less than 1% of food miles, but 11% of CO2 food distribution emissions
Greenhouse gases
Air freight by weight can generate 177 times more greenhouse gases than shipping
