Force manifacturers of electroics to allow/support 3rd party repair.
Create a law which requires OEM's (original equipment manufacturers) to; create software which does not restrict non-original repalcement parts, sell oem parts and make repair manuals and repair software avalibe to the public (acessible by everyone for free, they not have to give the code)
E-waste makes a significant contribution to climate change, it is unavoidable but can be reduced by repairing your electronic devices. Manifacturers such as apple, sony have been making moves against 3rd-party repair so they can make more money off customers. These manifacturers have been creating software which actively rejects non-original/oem hardware so they can force customers to come back to them if they have a broken device, they can't go anywhere else, the oems offer unreasonable prices so they can force the customer to buy a new product.
