Increase the Royal Navy fleet
Increase our surface combatant capability to project influence and protect our people, rights, territories and interests. I want the Government to commission more destroyers and frigates capability, and increase recruitment to the navy.
The war in Europe right now we can all agree that alone is an increased risk from a security standpoint.
The Stena Impero incident as recently as 2019 where a British tanker was seized. A larger escort fleet could have prevented this.
Additional fleet numbers will also mean we have cover for other ships in maintenance/refits etc.
This could increase jobs in ship building and within the Royal Navy.
Falklands protection (remember 1982 and the defence cuts).
