All political parties should be able to oppose the Speaker, whoever they may be, in a general election.
Due to the present system, anyone in the constituency of the Speaker has an inability to express their vote for any of the three major political parties in a general election. This is restricting the voting rights of those constituents. The proposal is that this should be changed. The convention of not opposing the Speaker in general elections should be lifted.
