Petition Action

Illegal for Trees to be grown HIGH enough to reach neighbouring properties.

Petition Details

A law that makes it illegal to grow a tree on your property that is so high. If it falls it can reach neighbouring houses!
Basically considered manslaughter if someone killed!

Additional Information

Present laws are useless. They basically just cover overhanging branches!
Environment health needs more power to enforce!
It’s a matter of giving a worried homeowner the right to protect their self and family from potential tree falling from neighbouring properties

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. It's not clear whether you mean it should be illegal to grow trees that are tall enough to reach any part of a neighbour's garden if they fell, or just their home.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. Here is a previous petition, as an example of a request that we could accept:

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/608907
Require homeowners prevent trees exceeding 2 meters in height
