Make expressive arts more important in UK schools curriculum
At the moment, the expressive arts aren't considered very 'important' in schools. At my school, we have 4 hours of expressive arts out of 50 hours of lessons per fortnight. We need more expressive arts - it helps people who might not be academic to express themselves.
The expressive arts can give so many young people opportunities. It's not like it's not important. So many people get a good well-payed career out of it. Think about actors, musicians, artists. Expressive arts need to be considered as important as maths, English and science.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you want to see more focus on the expressive arts in school but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
The Government decides what subjects schools have to teach, and this already includes art and music at key stages 1, 2 and 3. We could accept a petition calling on the Government to require schools to teach additional subjects, or to require schools to teach art and music at key stage 4.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
