Make makaton and British sign language mandatory in all schools
I would like makaton to be a mandatory language to be taught across all primary schools and British sign language be an option to learn in secondary schools. This will help children to be all inclusive to other children and also help communicate with non-verbal and deaf peers.
I think it's important as we never know when we will come across someone who is non-verbal or an individual is deaf. This will help children be able to communicate regardless and also helps end the stigma behind non-verbal and deaf individuals.
