Home Office to Allow Time for Student's Visa Switching Policy 17/7/23 HC1496.
Home Office Visa Switching Policy for Int' Students was enforced the Same Day (1500 on 17 July 2023) as announced departing Parliamentary Conventions and legal Norms without reasons. Normally changes to Immigration Rules come into force no earlier than 21 days after their being laid in Parliament.
Parliament is to allow time for Students' Visa holder Switching policy to work visa (HC 1496). The policy was enforced the same day it was announced posing legal challenges for potential applicants & Businesses with Sponsor Licences. Home Office's unconventional move raises potential litigation to taxpayers.
HO is enforcing half of the policy in Jan 2024 and already enforced another half on 17/7/23 same day without any justifiable reasons. This leaves intl students in an uncertain situation.
