Amendments to MP conduct rules to restrict sitting MP's work as broadcasters
Amendments should restrict UK MPs from acting as hosts, long-term contributors or editors for current affairs broadcasting content. When contributing, MPs should be transparent about their involvement with related House business and disclose their voting history
I believe that it is inappropriate for members of Parliament to be allowed to frame current affairs and political discourse in a public forum without moderation. Open and fair discourse is essential to the functioning of a democracy and an impartial press is key to this. Further more I believe that MP's analysis on current affairs should always be presented with full transparency regarding not only their opinions but their voting history.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about MPs working as broadcasters are a matter for Ofcom, not the UK Government or Parliament.
