Credit Data Entry Pre-notification

Government should enact legislation that ensures that anyone entering adverse data on an individuals credit file must copy their entry to the party concerned at least 14 days before it is entered on the record and made public.

There should also be a period of at least 14 days wherein any pre- notified data can be challenged if deemed inaccurate, too often inaccurate data is only uncovered after a failed job application or credit application, where often the damage or lost opportunity caused is beyond repair.
