Petition Action

The Govt to make it illegal to assist any migrant that try to enter Uk illegally

Petition Details

We want the Govt to make it illegal for any UK organisation to assist any migrant that tries to enter the UK illegally where the migrant has not yet reached the shore. Where the assistance is required in our territorial waters then only the Coastguard can provide the assistance.

Additional Information

The general public are fed up with seeing illegal migrants being assisted by the coast guard and RNLI wasting tax payers money and the donations to RNLI from the public.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand that you would like to change the law around assisting those illegally entering the UK.

However, it is already an offence to facilitate a breach of immigration law.

A person or organisation does not commit an offence of facilitation if the act is done by, on behalf of, or co-ordinated by Her Majesty’s Coastguard or an overseas equivalent. This provides protection not only for organisations such as the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), but individual seafarers who respond to mayday relays.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do and how you would like this to change.
