Introduce a mechanism to allow for peerages to be stripped from lifetime peers.
At present there is no mechanism that allows for a peerage to be removed from a lifetime peer once awarded. The House of Lords must be held accountable to the public. Such legislation is essential for public confidence in parliament.
The titles deprivation act 1917 introduced such a mechanism in World War One. This is workable legislation that could be refreshed for modern times to allow for removal of lifetime peerages in exceptional circumstances.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We could accept a petition calling for a mechanism for removing life peerages, but it would need to be clear how you want this to work.
