Save Freddie Mercury
With the closure of the We Will Rock You musical on 31st May 2014, there is a risk that the spectacular statue of Freddie Mercury of Freddie Mercury will be removed from our lives.
The statue has been at the Dominion Theatre since 2002, and is a fitting tribute to one of Britain's greatest entertainers.
If the theatre decides to take down the statue, which seems very likely, it should be saved and moved to a new public location. Ideally, the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, or another suitable public space.
Freddie deserves a perminant tribute, and as the statue already exists, it needs to be saved for the people who love him.
The government should make every effort secure this piece of art for everyone.
