Create a specific offence of 'virtual mobbing'

Petition Details

Whilst inappropriate social media communications may be caught by current legislation, virtual mobbing - including on social media - has not been specifically prohibited in the UK. We want a statutory offence to be created, prohibiting virtual mobbing in the UK.

Additional Information

It has become too easy for a mob of users on social media to attack someone, and we believe current offences don't adequately cover this behaviour. We think a new offence is needed to reflect the impact this behaviour can have on an individuals' mental health.
