Decouple price of renewably resourced electricity from price of non-renewable.
Allow green energy companies to charge per unit electricity in line with cost of production from renewable resources (wind/solar), instead of all being linked to unit price of electricity from production from non-renewable resources (gas).
Drives Gov Green Agenda, promoting long term investment into renewable energy and storage, decreases reliance on foreign partners gas production, reduces cost for consumer by increasing competition - reducing inflation, decreasing costs of production. Assuming that reductions in the production costs of electricity are passed to customers, at average cost of £85/MWh for fossil fuel energy, replaced by renewables at a cost of £44 to £57/MWh, leads to a saving of £183 to £268/y.
