Enforce a ban on Buy-to-Let mortgages for both private investors and companies.
Buy-to-let mortgages fuel property accumulation by investors, intensifying competition for first-time buyers. Government action to ban these mortgages would prioritize housing as a necessity, not a profit, fostering fairness and equal access in the housing market.
Buy-to-let mortgages exacerbate housing inequality. Investors and affluent individuals amass properties, driving up prices and hindering first-time buyers. Banning them promotes fair access, prevents property speculation, and ensures housing serves its primary purpose: providing shelter, not profit.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The types of mortgage products available are a matter for individual lenders, not the UK Government or Parliament. We could accept a petition calling for a ban on private landlords, if that's something that you'd like to see.
