Keep Formula 1 Live on Free to Air Terrestrial TV
The Government to release funds to keep Formula 1 on the BBC as live coverage. Motorsport produces £5 billion for the UK economy every year and this is rising. Relegating its crown jewel to a pay for view channel will restrict the audience and therefore the restrict the ability for people to watch and through watching take inspiration to participate within the industry in some form. The UK is the home of almost all of the F1 teams. Reducing the audience will lead to a reduction in people attending venues, a reduction in sponsorship and therefore a reduction in productivity of the sport and its contribution to the GDP of the UK.
