To adopt a False Statements Act criminalising lying in public life and justice
The U.K. should adopt an act making it a crime to knowingly and wilfully make any materially false, fictitious or fraudulent statement or representation in the course of any matter within the jurisdiction of the judicial, executive and legislative branches of government.
Such an Act would be consistent with the Nolan principles of good governance, would reduce corruption and would enhance compliance with the rule of law and the principles of equality, non-discrimination, democracy and respect for fundamental rights.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, we could accept a petition calling for it to be made a criminal offence for MPs to mislead the public.
