The London ULEZ system should email registered users if they are to be charged.

Petition Details

The new London ULEZ scheme is capable of automatically billing users. It would be very useful if the system could also email registered users if they've been inside the ULEZ and need to pay. This way, users who very infrequently visit London don't need to maintain a balance on the system.

Additional Information

Adding simple functionality to the system as described above will streamline it's use and help people avoid costly and unintentional fines.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about the payment arrangements for ULEZ are a matter for TFL, not the UK Government or Parliament.

Transport for London already have an option to set up Autopay for ULEZ charges on their website:
tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/auto-pay
