Petition Action

Give residents permits to pass through all LTN cameras to access their own LTN.

Petition Details

Give residents of the LTN that they live in, a permit to pass through the ANPR cameras. This will ease stationary traffic created by longer journeys around the LTN as the majority of the access roads are being blocked up.

Additional Information

LTNs are restricting access for residents, making us drive further with longer driving times, more cars and pollution on boundary roads.
Many school roads in London have time restricted access, morning and afternoon, with permitted access for vehicles with permits, therefore this could be used to give all residents of their own LTN a permit registered to their property to allow them to use all camera restricted roads to access the LTN to get home.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about certain arrangements relating to a low traffic neighbourhood, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

We can also only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for, and arrangements for low traffic neighbourhoods are a matter for individual local authorities, not the Government or Parliament.

If you are concerned about the low traffic neighbourhood in your area you could raise your concerns with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
