Extend rights to preserved pensions to veterans who left service before 1975
Post 1975, MOST veterans qualify for pensions after only 2 years of service.
Prior to 1975, a veteran had to serve for 22 years before receiving anything.
We want post-1975 pension rights to be made retrospective, so there are equal pension rights for all veterans.
Equal rights for all is a fundamental human right.
We believe it is unfair that pension rights are more generous for people who left military service after 1975. This excludes people who served during the Cold War, Suez Crisis, Middle East crisis, etc.
Right the wrong. Introduce retrospective pension schemes for veterans who left the military before 1975, who have served for at least two years.
