Make time spent on student visa category count towards ILR
There is a need for a change in the immigration policy regarding ILR eligibility for international students. Specifically, urging the government to consider a policy that allows time spent on student visa categories to count towards the ILR eligibility criteria.
Including time spent on other student visa categories towards ILR eligibility would have several benefits; one being:
Retention of Talent: Many international students come to the UK for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies. By recognizing the cumulative time spent on student visas, we can encourage these individuals to continue contributing their talents and skills to the UK after completing their studies.
