Revise and strengthen the Reasonable Adjustments process for Disabled workers
The guidelines for RAs are vague and lead to employers refusing to cooperate with the law. The process in receiving RAs is extremely long, complex, and stressful. Refusals of RAs result in law suits, unemployment, and the Disability Pay Gap.
2 in 5 disabled people are not receiving the RAs they require from their employer.
Only 41% of employers report feeling confident in supporting a disabled worker.
78% of disabled works have to initiate the RA process rather than the employer
Only 10% day receiving their required RAs is easy
67% have had some or all RAs refused
1 in 8 have had to wait over a year for RAs to be implemented
The disability pay gap is estimated to be 17.2% - RAs can increase employability
