Petition Action

Educate women on Early Menopause, Reproductive Health and Fertility challenges

Petition Details

Support women's health education initiatives giving women more information and support on key women's health issues such as early menopause and possible causes (Primary Ovarian Insufficiency, Surgical Menopause). Provide information and support on the associated fertility issues that may present.

Additional Information

To prepare women who may face these challenges in life and to break down the stigma and shame surrounding an early menopause and/or infertility. By educating women from a young age you are able to normalise some of these conditions and to break down some of the stigma surrounding them. Menopause and/or early menopause should be discussed in schools and should be a part of the medical and nursing curriculum at University when we are training our health care professionals.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about training for medical professionals are a matter for educational institutions and relevant professional regulators, not the UK Government or Parliament.

Furthermore, the topic of the menopause is already on the school curriculum.

We could accept a petition calling for a public awareness campaign regarding Early Menopause, Reproductive Health and Fertility challenges, if that's something you'd like to happen.
