Raise the age of consent for sex from 16 to 18

Petition Details

I believe that people under the age of 18 are children and should not be able to give consent to sex or sexual activity. Raise the age of consent from 16 to 18 - I believe this would stop children from being abused legally by adults.

Additional Information

In England a child is defined as anyone who has not yet reached their 18th birthday, on this basis it is currently legal to have sex with some children.
