Authorities /media must not generalize the public to support their statements.
Generalizing and categorizing the public to support official statements without their consent is unlawful and can lead to unjustified regulations. Therefore, such actions must be banned. Anyone who publicly quotes someone's support must provide the number of supporters, the community, or individuals.
Media and authorities often claiming to speak for all people in general. I have raised concerns about how adjustments to official laws and legislations are often based on generalized statements such as "people demand" or "65% of people (from?)," or "I am the voice of mothers, women, etc."These false statements have led to the establishment of unjustified regulations. These statements must be justified with transparent evidence on whose behalf the statement is made, much like in a court of law.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
We can also only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about stats and content quoted in broadcast content are a matter for Ofcom, not the UK Government or Parliament.
