Immediate Election of Birmingham City Council
Following the bankruptcy of Birmingham City Council the people of Birmingham demand the chance to re-elect their council. Important decisions should be taken by elected officials, not by unelected commissioners.
Democracy is a foundational principle of our society.
We call upon the Government and Parliament not to appoint commissioners, instead to call an immediate council election. Decisions concerning the future of Birmingham should be taken by a newly elected council which has the confidence of the people.
