Petition Action

Increase the awareness of politics and increase transparency from politicians

Petition Details

I believe that the knowledge of details within parliament should be available throughout the UK to stabilise and re-instate trust between the community through transparency of government officials as well as allowing young people the ability to understand through schools.

Additional Information

I believe it should be a prerogative of the people to have a deeper understanding of how our government works and the issues that they solve/create as well as why they make decisions as this would help provide more stability within not only England but also the entirety of the UK .The only way I can see this possible is to promote complete accountability for government officials as well as the chance to explain themselves to a country of people who understand how government works.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you want to see greater awareness of politics, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

Information about Parliament is publicly available on parliament.uk, and it's not clear what more you want to be done.

As part of the national curriculum schools are also required to teach children about the development of the political system of democratic government in the United Kingdom, the operation of Parliament and the nature of rules and laws and the justice system.

If there's something else you want the Government or Parliament to do you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
